Tanzania DAY FOUR!

•June 3, 2011 • 2 Comments

We are safe and sound in Africa.  Thank you for all the prayers! :]  Our luggage made it….All of it. Praise God.  We were worn out the first two days, but even since we are full of energy and excitement!

So far, we have helped clean up a playground…including painting slides and fixing a playground chain bridge.  Some of us spent the afternoon at a near-by orphanage called Margret’s Place, playing with the kids, singing songs and making memories. :] (It was awesome.) We have also spent time with a man named Zachriah, who is a paraplegic.  He shared a bit of his story with us..He is a very inspiring man.  God is working through his life in incredible ways.  Then, we spent time this morning at two different schools.  One for highschool kids and the other for younger kids, around grade one-age.  Worshipping with them was amazing.  God is so relavent in their lives and worship. Then, with the little kids we played games and sang songs about Jesus.  It was beautiful.

We have also been doing some crazy stuff too…such as a scavanger hunt of all of Moshi, the town we’re in.  And trying very African foods.  It’s been good. All of it. :]

Again, Thank you for all your prayers and support!  Hopefully, we’ll have pictures up soon….if the power isn’t out….and the internet is working. :]

Love and blessings from all of us here in Tanzania!

The Team has Arrived!

(This is from Larisa’s mom.)  They all arrived fine and dandy.  Flights went well and all the luggage made it half way around the world (which is no small feat… you should have seen all their bags!!)  The hotel they are in is very nice and shares a back fence with the Emmanuel Center.  There are avocado trees and mango trees all around (this was great news for one girl, no names mentioned.)  Food has been great and everyone is healthy.  Thanks for your prayers.

Tanzania, Here We Come!

Hey Everyone!

Our “Tanzania Team” is leaving very soon.  Sunday morning, the plane leaves Arizona; Africa bound.  :]

Please, keep us in your prayers.

Here are a few things from different team members that are on their hearts…and minds.

Dear God,
Thank you for this opportunity to serve you in such an amazing way.  I know through this experience, we are so much more blessed than we can imagine and will probably be receiving more than we could ever possibly give.  Dear Lord, help us all to share the depths of our hearts with those whom have not yet met you, and help us to share your truth.

Thank you for putting this team together, as we have already been shown how well we work together.  Please hold us near and keep us safe from illness or injury as we embark on this journey.

In Your Sons name,
Amen”

Another said,

“Most of us, I’m sure, are having some anxious thoughts about our trip.

What will it be like, will I be ok?, what will God ask me to do?
Isaiah 26: 3 says,
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he/she trusts in You.    Trust in the Lord forever, for IN GOD THE LORD, we have an everlasting rock.    Keep your thoughts on Him!”

And another said,

“I have been preparing a message to share while we are in Tanzania.  I remember being moved when I first heard about Jill and her faithfulness and love for this place and its children.  I was reading Ephesians as part of my preparation and as I read Ephesians 1: 15-23, I couldn’t help but think of Jill, her family and all those who are so faithful in Tanzania.
I am looking forward to meeting them and seeing the work of the Spirit in their lives.  I also pray that our group continues to be led by God’s Power and Spirit as well!”
God has amazing things in store for this trip.  There’s no doubt.
To God be all the Glory for putting the whole trip together so wonderfully.  We have one Awesome Team…If I do say so myself. :]
Please, keep our team of 12 in your prayers!
Tanzania, Here We Come!   :D
